Forest School Adventures

The forest has been an exciting place to be recently.  Reception, Year 4 and Year 5 have been out and have loved exploring.

The mud kitchen and digging area is always popular, using tools safely, hunting for bugs and fungi and meeting and hugging different trees.  It has been lovely using both sites outside.  The sites have been pretty water logged so we have been making the most of the water and enjoying jumping in puddles.  Forest School is a child-centred inspirational learning process which helps to develop confidence and self-esteem where children can learn to take risks, connect with the outside world and develop confidence and resilience.  Our children are lucky to have the opportunity to explore outside safely with their friends.

“I’d forgotten how much fun it is to jump in puddles and play in mud!”

“What’s this?” says a child looking at her dirty, muddy hands.

“I feel really proud of myself using resilience to create a spark with the fire lighter”

“I have loved being on the lower site, it has brought back some happy memories”

“I loved seeing my little sister at lunchtime”

It was so lovely seeing the different year groups engaging with the outside!  Despite the weather they all had a fab time.

PLEASE CAN YOU HELP US BY SENDING YOUR CHILD IN WITH WATERPROOFS & WELLIES IF YOU HAVE THEM, AND REMEMBER TO WEAR LOTS OF LAYERS.  It is more important to be warm and comfortable when you are outside rather than wearing the latest fashion.
