Fun Forest School

Year 1 and Year 2 have really enjoyed Forest School this half-term!

Chestnut and Pine class have been working hard on the lower site learning to build, light and maintain a fire with support.  They enjoyed hot drinks and a snack and the children were very resilient to use a flint and steel and 'dragon snot' and 'fairy fluff' to make a spark.

There were some huge puddles in the forest area and the ground was very waterlogged which meant there was exploring to be done - splashing and jumping too!!

We spent some time looking at the charcoal we had made and used this to decorate trees, faces and hearts.  Year One and Year Two have been very resilient this term outside.  This time last year we weren't in school as we are now and so it has been a new experience.  It has been special seeing the daffodils come out this week.  We have all been fascinated by the little changes - blossom, bare branches and flowers opening.  It is an exciting time, and we are looking forward to seeing Reception after half-term outside.
