The Great Fire of London
A great end to Year 2's topic about The Great Fire of London!
This term, Year 2 have been learning about The Great Fire of London. The Great Fire of London started on Sunday, 2nd September 1666 in a baker's shop on Pudding Lane.
Throughout the term children have also learned about Samuel Pepys who was a man that lived at the time and kept a diary at the time, which has been very well preserved.
Today the children in year 2 re-created The Great Fire of London. Their wonderful Tudor houses were set alight whilst they sang 'London's burning'. The fire was supervised by Mrs Allen our Forest School Leader who ensured that the children were at a safe distance at all times.
The children observed how quickly the fire spread from Pudding Lane!
