Year 1 visited Leeds castle as part of their 'Once upon a time' topic. They had an amazing day at Leeds Castle! The children were all respectful, polite and listened to all the adults.

The children enjoyed a tour of the castle. I think a few would have liked to stay at the castle, and found the rooms stunning.

After lunch we had our workshop acting out the story of “The Swan Princess”. Most of the class were soldiers and some had character parts. Again they all listened to the instructions and joined in when asked.

We hope they enjoyed the day as much as the staff did. Thank you to all of those who helped to make our visit so successful. We will be using this visit as a stimulus for their writing. This is a great opportunity for the children to write about their real life experiences.
