Planetarium workshop

Year 5 have been exploring space.

Year 5 started their space science topic on Thursday with a visit from the astrodome planetarium. In addition to seeing and learning a lot about the planets and stars, we saw actual pieces of meteorites and moon rock!

The children were able to go inside a mobile planetarium where they saw several constellations, including Pegasus and Unicorn. They were able to spot shooting stars and planets too, as well as seeing images of the Milky Way!

One child in Cedar class said "I enjoyed going into the astrodome and seeing all the planets in the solar system.

I liked learning about how many Plutos there are - there are 300!"

In the afternoon children were asked to write fact sheets about the planets. Here are a few examples of the work they produced.
