Today marks the start of Anti-Bullying Week. We are kicking the week off by wearing odd socks to school to raise awareness. 

There’s a serious message behind the fun: let’s pull on odd socks to show we’re ALL unique and different, and let’s be kind to each other and respect each other’s individuality.

Kindness is more important today than it has ever been. The isolation of the last year has underlined how little acts of consideration and charity can break down barriers and brighten the lives of the people around us.

It is lovely to see all the bright and patterns on the children's socks. The children will spend time each day thinking about how to keep themselves safe at school. 

"Odd Sock Day first started in 2017 as a way to deter bullying in school. With the rise of technology and the added pressure children face social media and at school, the Anti-Bullying Alliance created the day to remind people that it’s good to stand out. By expressing oneself without fear of judgment reaffirms the idea that being who you are is more than enough. If we can appreciate someone else’s odd socks, we can also appreciate each individual’s differences."
